John Rinkenbaugh, Owner / Operator: John’s passion for running began in high school, where he excelled as a top runner in Kansas. His dedication continued at the University of Kansas, where he had the privilege of training alongside world record holder Jim Ryun. John even chronicled Ryun’s remarkable career in the acclaimed documentary “Jim Ryun: America’s Greatest Miler.” As a certified RRCA distance coach with over 25 years of experience, John has guided numerous high school state champions and elite distance runners. He even coached his wife to qualify for the Boston Marathon in just 18 months. Run Florida On McGregor is John’s way of dedicating his time and passion to the sport he loves.
Mike Bailey, Coach: Mike’s love for running developed during his high school baseball career in Illinois. What started as a way to stay fit evolved into a true passion and ultimately a business. Mike’s coaching philosophy centers around matching the right shoe with the right runner and their unique style. As a certified run coach, Mike runs approximately 40 miles per week, often accompanied by his loyal running partner, Bailey, his 8-year-old black lab, whom you might have seen running through the streets of Fort Myers.
